Our Urban Vikings full day tour is a modern twist on a classic sport

Unleash your inner Viking at MANIAX and learn the art of axe throwing from AXE-pert coaches. Once you’ve nailed a bullseye and worked up a sweat, swap your axe for a pint and kick back with hand-crafted, award-winning brews at the Gold Coast’s best breweries.

All the thrill, all the flavour—no drinking from skulls required.

  • Tour operates Thursday – Sunday

  • Pick up location: 12:15pm @ Sandbar (Surfers Paradise)

  • Tour lasts roughly 6 hours

  • 60-minute axe-throwing session; visit 3 breweries; all tasters & lunch included

  • Photo ID required; Must be 18+ to participate

  • Minimum 4 guests required to operate.
    If minimum numbers are not reached your order will remain as “PENDING” and we will be in touch with options.

Our Urban Vikings tour starts at MANIAX then visits three Gold Coast breweries.
Lunch is generally served at the second brewery we visit.

Please note: We recommend a hearty breakfast before starting the day. Enclosed shoes are required.

Your 60-minute session will have the pros teaching you everything they know so you can aim straight and throw accurately, plus enjoy the chance to play a few new games with your mates. We will meet the group at 12:15pm at Sandbar (52 Esplanade), a short walk from MANIAX, at the conclusion of the axe-throwing.

Gold Coast Breweries
We have so many incredible breweries to choose from that we share the love as best we can. The venues we visit will change based on drop off locations for guests, events, festivals, new releases we think you definitely need to try, or somewhere we haven’t been in a while. If you have a place you really want to visit (or don’t), please let us know in the Special Requirements section of your booking.
Pick Up & Drop Off Details

Where a location is indicated, we will pick up you outside the venue so please keep an eye out for our van – you can’t miss it!

Pick Ups:

  • Sandbar (52 Esplanade, Surfers Paradise) overlooks the lapping waves of Surfers Paradise. Sandbar is one block north of Cavill Mall.

Drop Offs:

We are flexible with our drop-off locations within the city based on guests’ needs and requests.

What’s Included

Included in the price: 60-minutes of guided axe throwing with MANIAX, transportation in our private, air-conditioned van, guided brewery tour with explanation of the brewing process, all beer samples at the breweries we visit, lunch, beer education and history, snacks, and witty commentary (well, we think it is).

Please note that it is a requirement to wear closed-toe shoes during the axe throwing portion of the day, however we suggest you have them on while visiting the breweries to get behind the scenes and so you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Also, since they don’t always run on a set schedule, we will try and catch the brewers in action but that can’t always be guaranteed; keep an open mind on the day because no matter what or who we see, the beers are always epic.

This tour will show as “unavailable” within 48 hours of the travel time; if you are keen to travel tomorrow or the next day, please call us to check availability.
