THURS 12 DEC – BRISBANE – St Bernardus ABT 12 Day @ Saccharomyces / 3pm onwards
With a 99 score on BeerAdvocate, one beer that is truly worthy of having its very own day to celebrate is St. Bernardus ABT 12. On December 12, we celebrate this World class beer. We have been busy squirreling away a few different versions of ABT 12 to break out on this special day. First up is the classic ABT 12 on tap, then we have a few sneaky bottles of 2014 Vintages and some Saint Bernardus Christmas Ale. While not exactly ABT 12 it is based on the same recipe and you know it is Christmas.
ABT 12 is a traditional abbey ale brewed in the classic style of Belgium’s Trappist Monks. It is almost ebony in color, smooth, creamy and full bodied with a richness of texture that is almost oily and very assertive, like a warming coconut brandy. ABT 12 sits at a bold 10% ABV.
We’ll be throwing the doors open at 3:00pm for you to get straight into the ABT action with tasting paddles available to try all three versions side by side. Or of course just grab a big old volume of each. It is close to Christmas after all.

It is the Friday before Christmas and house taps are running hot at Sacch. The heat and humidity of Brisbane Summer have turned the venue into a sweat box. It is time to break out that ugly Xmas singlet.
Get down the lane on Friday December 20 in your finest ugly festive gear to celebrate that last afterwork drink of 2024 (for most of you lucky ducks). We will embrace the season with buckets of booze and jugs of beer. Sacch Santa will have a heap of goodies to share for the best looking ugly festive gear. Finish off your Friday in the right way.
We’ll be plugging up the taps from December 23 to 26 for a little holiday break, so it is time to get into Sacch for one of the last post work drinks of 2024. Catch ya down the lane!
